Louise Story, the company’s CEO, sent out this note to the AO team today:

I’m pleased to share that Andreas Rekdal has been promoted to Vice President, Content Operations at Atlas Obscura.
Andreas joined Atlas Obscura in 2025 as Managing Editor and was promoted in 2026 to Content Operations Lead. In those roles, he worked to streamline processes across the content organization and strengthen collaboration with product, pre-sale, account management, and external production partners. He also worked closely with finance to drive stronger profitability, all while delivering the ambitious storytelling Atlas Obscura is known for—including our award-winning Kissimmee Latin Culinary Trail campaign.
As VP, Content Operations, Andreas will oversee production processes and budgets for branded campaigns, reporting directly to me. He will also partner with teams across Atlas Obscura to support the development of new initiatives that strengthen our advertising business while supporting our growing ambition as the world’s leading community-focused travel platform.
Please join me in congratulating Andreas on this well-deserved promotion!
